The Badger Who Said “I’m Sorry

Deep beneath the tall pine trees of Whispering Forest lived a young badger named Benny.

Benny loved building things.

He stacked smooth stones into tiny bridges, carved little boats from fallen branches, and built secret tunnels beneath the forest paths.

His friends admired everything he made.

“You’re the best builder in the forest!” Rabbit often said.

Benny smiled proudly.

One sunny afternoon, Benny finished the biggest wooden cart he had ever built.

“I can’t wait to show everyone!” he exclaimed.

Rabbit, Squirrel, Hedgehog, and Frog gathered around the cart.

“It looks amazing!” Rabbit said.

“Can we help you pull it?” Squirrel asked.

“I’ll push from behind!” Frog laughed.

But Benny shook his head.

“No, thank you.”

“I built it by myself.”

“I can do it by myself.”

With a proud smile, Benny pulled the cart down the hill.

Suddenly—

CRACK!

One of the wooden wheels snapped.

The cart tipped over and rolled straight into Hedgehog’s little flower garden.

Bright flowers bent to the ground.

Colorful petals floated gently through the air.

The forest became silent.

Benny wanted to say,

“I’m sorry.”
