태양의 아버지의 죽음

하늘의 꼭대기에서 세 걸음 떨어진 곳

영원히 꽃 피는 피나무 곁에서

늙은 태양이 멈추었다

붉어졌다가 초록빛으로 변하고

자기 둘레를 세 번 돌더니

자신의 근원으로 되돌아갔다

(우리 눈앞에서 죽지 않기 위하여)

태양의 아들이 있다고 한다

그 아들이 눈을 크게 뜨고 우리를 위해 태어날 때까지

우리는 이 어둠에게 빛내는 법을 가르치게 되리라

Death of the sun's father

Three paces from the top of heaven

From the limetree in eternal bloom

The old sun stopped

Turned red turned green

Turned round himself three times

And went back to his rising

(So as not to die in our sight)

They say there's a Son of the Sun

Until he's born wide-eyed for us too

We'll teach this darkness to shine
