Key subcontractor announcement at Eurosatory 2026
FFG Flensburger Fahrzeugbau Gesellschaft (Germany)
On June 15, 2026, Hyundai Rotem signed an agreement with FFG during Eurosatory in Paris.
The agreement covers specialist recovery equipment for 31 K2PL armored recovery vehicles, rather than the K2 main battle tank itself.
Separately, Hanwha Systems secured a contract worth approximately KRW 203.1 billion in December 2025 to supply fire-control systems for Polish K2 tanks.

Hyundai Rotem K2 Black Panther —
Korean Subcontractor & Supplier Report
Research updated October 18, 2026 |
South Korean supply chain
Executive summary
The K2 Black Panther has an extensive Korean supply chain covering propulsion, fire control, electronics, armor, weapons, hydraulics, suspension and precision-machined components.
A July 2025 iM Securities research report estimated approximately 1,100 companies across the K2-related supplier ecosystem.
This is not a public list of 1,100 verified direct Hyundai Rotem subcontractors.
The following is a source-backed shortlist of named Korean companies.
It distinguishes established component suppliers from broader supply-chain participants and flags cases where direct purchase orders from Hyundai Rotem have not been publicly demonstrated.
1. Core Korean K2 suppliers
Evidence key: A = manufacturer, Hyundai Rotem or contract-specific documentation; B = named in a financial research supply-chain map; C = historical or indirect association.
Supplier K2 product / subsystem Evidence
Hanwha Systems 한화시스템 Fire-control system, gunner/commander sights and related electronics A/B
HD Hyundai Infracore HD현대인프라코어 DV27K 1,500 hp diesel engine A
SNT Dynamics SNT다이내믹스 EST15K automatic transmission; production-batch dependent A
Hyundai WIA 현대위아 120 mm L/55 smoothbore main gun B
MNC Solution 엠앤씨솔루션 Electric gun/turret drives, elevation/traverse controls and suspension servo valves A
Samyang Comtech 삼양컴텍 Composite and special ballistic armor A
LIG Nex1 LIG넥스원 Operational-control systems B
KOT Technology 코츠테크놀로지 Integrated vehicle-control computers, fire-control computers and displays A
LS Mtron LS엠트론 Tank track systems B/C
Formetal 포메탈 Suspension components and precision forgings B
POSCO 포스코 Ballistic steel for the tank hull B
Poongsan 풍산 120 mm tank ammunition A/C
Sources include a published K2 supply-chain map from iM Securities, manufacturer documentation and a Korea IR Council report identifying specific Korean computing products supplied for the Polish K2 export program.
Important distinction: Companies providing ammunition or materials are relevant K2 ecosystem suppliers, but their products may be purchased by other government or prime-contractor entities rather than directly by Hyundai Rotem.
2. Additional verified Korean subcontractors
These smaller companies are especially relevant for industrial supply-chain research because their work is tied to identifiable K2 components.
Kumkang Kigong (금강기공)
Products: Components for automatic loading equipment and approximately 380 types of K2-related precision parts.
A May 2026 report documents its long-running direct relationship with Hyundai Rotem and its participation in Polish K2 exports.

Geum-A Hyd Power (금아하이드파워)
Products: Hydraulic-function components, pumps and related assemblies for military vehicles.
Hyundai Rotem directly identified this firm as a supplier whose products are used in K2 tanks and wheeled armored vehicles.

KOT Technology / COTS Technology
(코츠테크놀로지)
Products: Single-board computers (SBC), integrated vehicle-control computers, fire-control computers and operator displays.
Published research identifies supply relationships with Hyundai Rotem and Hanwha Systems for the K2 program.

3. K2 component-to-supplier architecture
HYUNDAI ROTEM

Propulsion
HD Hyundai Infracore SNT Dynamics
Weapons & fire control
Hyundai WIA Hanwha Systems

Kumkang Kigong Geum-A Hyd Power Poongsan
Functional supply-chain map, not a representation of confirmed direct contractual tiers. Companies shown in one category may also supply other subsystems.
4. New 2026 supplier opportunities — K2ME and K2PL
In March 2026, Hyundai Rotem publicly disclosed five upgraded components being developed with partners for the Middle Eastern K2ME tank.
Component Purpose Named subcontractor
Cooling housing Engine cooling in extreme heat Not publicly identified
Powerpack radiator Increased heat rejection Not publicly identified
Turret auxiliary cooling Cooling crew and electronics Not publicly identified
Hydraulic-oil cooler Suspension and hydraulic thermal management Not publicly identified
Flexible-material fuel tank Improved durability and capacity Not publicly identified
Hyundai Rotem stated that K2 localization was approximately 90% and introduced a supplier benefit-sharing framework to encourage further localization. The specific companies responsible for these five upgraded products were not named in the announcement.
For K2PL, Hyundai Rotem’s April 28, 2026 announcement additionally confirmed that some cameras and inertial-navigation equipment would be sourced locally in Poland. Therefore Korean supplier assignments on the baseline K2 should not automatically be applied to K2PL.
5. Supplier verification and commercial relevance
For practical supplier mapping, these are the strongest individual verification records.
Company Source evidence Commercial interpretation
MNC Solution Official K2 product catalogue Confirmed K2 subsystem manufacturer
Samyang Comtech Official armor portfolio Confirmed K2 armor manufacturer
Geum-A Hyd Power Hyundai Rotem supplier feature Direct relationship publicly described
Kumkang Kigong May 2026 supplier report Direct relationship and K2 component range reported
KOT Technology Korea IR Council research report Supply to both Hyundai Rotem and Hanwha Systems identified
Among these, MNC Solution, Samyang Comtech, Geum-A Hyd Power, Kumkang Kigong and KOT Technology have particularly specific public evidence linking their components to K2.
The table in Section 1 also includes companies identified by investment research, but that is not equivalent to independent confirmation of an active purchase order or contractual tier.
6. Highest-priority companies for further investigation
For supplier due diligence, I would group the targets as follows:
Large strategic subsystem suppliers
6 companies
Hanwha Systems, HD Hyundai Infracore, SNT Dynamics, Hyundai WIA, MNC Solution and Samyang Comtech.
Specialist component manufacturers
4 companies
KOT Technology, Geum-A Hyd Power, Kumkang Kigong and Formetal.
Additional ecosystem participants
4 companies
LIG Nex1, LS Mtron, POSCO and Poongsan.
Procurement implications
Hyundai Rotem announced in July 2026 that its K2 tank line had obtained NATO AQAP-2110 quality-system certification covering design, development and manufacture. This does not automatically certify its subcontractors, but it makes traceability, manufacturing control, configuration management and documented quality processes especially relevant when assessing potential suppliers.
Bottom line
This research identifies 14 named Korean suppliers or supply-chain participants, with differing levels of K2-specific evidence. It should not be treated as a complete or uniformly verified list of direct Hyundai Rotem subcontractors.
For a procurement-grade database, the remaining information to verify company by company is the precise part number, direct versus indirect contract relationship, K2 production batch, Polish export applicability, manufacturing location and current supply status.
The strongest publicly documented smaller-company leads are Geum-A Hyd Power, Kumkang Kigong and KOT Technology. These are useful starting points for understanding K2’s component-level supplier network beyond its major defense contractors.
